What’s the difference between preserved and fresh flowers?
Preserved flowers have had their sap replaced with glycerine, meaning that they don’t wilt and can last up to a year, unlike fresh flowers which usually wilt after 2-3 weeks.
Are preserved flowers artificial?
No, they are all real flowers! Their fresh look when preserved makes it hard to believe they are real and dried.
Are preserved flowers the same as dried flowers?
Preserved flowers are dried, however before they are dried they undergo a special preservation treatment where the sap is replaced by 100% plant-based glycerine and dyes. The treatment maintains the cell structure of the plants, leaving them feeling soft and retaining their natural beauty for many months.
Do preserved flowers have a scent?
Like fresh flowers, preserved flowers do have a scent. We particularly love working with preserved lavender and eucalyptus for their beautiful fragrance. The natural scent of each variety of stem is retained in the preservation process, however, this will fade over time.
Do preserved flowers contain dye?
Yes, they glycerine absorbed by the flowers is sometimes dyed to enhance and sustain their colour. All preservation ingredients are natural and non-toxic.
Are preserved flowers eco-friendly?
Yes! Our flowers are long-lasting and can be reused time and time again, reducing waste and transportation compared to fresh-cut flowers. They are preserved with 100% natural ingredients and are fully biodegradable.
Are your flowers pet-friendly?
As all the flowers are natural they retain their natural properties and the pet safety will depend on the individual flower. Please check the varieties you wish to buy for pet safety and feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
